Paul is the last of five children, at the age of fifteen he towers above other members of the family at six feet two inches. His lanky frame and teenage face exposes his venerability. At that height and with the right diet he could be a famous basketball player – we use that to tease him. His uttermost desire is to roundup his senior high school and attends college in the United States. I support him whole heartedly! Study hard and make the grades in the public exams and your dream could come true – was my encouragement to him. But this Christmas eve, Paul was busy crying himself out without my knowledge. An unfocused individual is unstable in all his ways. You end up being a jack of all trades, but a master of none. A hundred meter runner cherishes every second as his body tears through the wind resistance. To look at any distraction would mean valuable time lost, which the competition would gladly take advantage of to get to the finish line. Why do we need to remain focused in our goals and objectives? Undeniably it is the coveted prize at the end of all the suffering, self denial, affliction, name calling and evil attack. The winning spirit is not distracted by the discouragement of others, he is on a pilgrimage to success; there might be rising and falling, it forms part of the experiences to look back on and thank God for a rough but victorious journey. Definitely not a Hummer Jeep! What we should be asking ourselves as Christians and Church leaders is this heart searching question. The answer we give will reveal to us the truth about our faith in Christ Jesus. In the days of Jesus Christ, there were different modes of transportation namely; chariots, horses, donkey, boats and walking. The fastest mode was the Chariot, because of the number of horses required to pull it. The second fastest was the horse mounted by its rider, the donkey was probably the slowest of the animal based transport modes. The speed of the boat was often determined by the wind current blowing on the sea. As we know, walking as a mode of transportation has been with us from time immemorial. On the day of Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem, he chose of all the animal base transportation system, the donkey! Continue reading If Jesus Was Me, What Car Would He Drive? extract 2
There is no Bible believing Christian who wouldn’t be disturbed by the unfolding events in the House of God. We have become more worldly than the world by flaunting the blessing of God in our lives. Where we are to impact humanity with our substance, we prefer to lavish it on our earthly desires. Are all these desires in sync with our calling into the priesthood of Jesus Christ? Do you ever stop a while to ask yourself the question, if Jesus Christ was me, would he do what I am doing now? Probably not, because the answer may be in contrast to your present life style. Continue reading IF JESUS WAS ME, WHAT WOULD HE DO? Part 1 extract
Your talent is that task that you do effortlessly. Everyone that is born in this world has a God given talent that is inherent. All that is required from you is to discover the talent and develop it for the sake of mankind. You were not born empty, but filled with glory and honour an expression of Almighty God’s creative prowess. (Psalm 8: 4-6) The Bible says, God made you a little lower than the Angels and crowned you with glory and honour, so that you can have dominion over the works of his hands and put all things under your feet. Glory be to Gold Almighty. Amen.
Most people only use about ten percent of the inherent talent in them, while the remaining ninety per cent remains dormant. Continue reading EXPOSE THAT TALENT IN YOU!
Jesus Christ before the ascension into heaven, told his disciples that it was to their advantage that he returned to Heaven, for it was only then the Father can send down the Counsellor to them. One may be tempted to ask what the role of the Counsellor is to us as Christians. (John 16:7)
What do we understand as being a Counsellor? It is a person who by privilege of knowledge, education or experience is in a unique position to advice, guide and help you achieve the desired results in life. In secondary schools, they are known as Career Counsellors. Usually, their jobs are to advise students in the junior secondary what subjects to select to follow a certain career in life. This is often based on the academic performance of the individual concerned; the counsellor uses the subjects’ grade to advice on career choice. Ultimately, the aim is for you to pass your ‘O’ level exams based on the subject you often excel. In the Church, the Counsellor is the Pastor or his assistant. He is there for your spiritual guidance, whenever you experience abnormal situations you can not ordinarily explain. He usually set aside his counselling days for people to bring their problems to him. Continue reading WHO IS THE HOLY GHOST?
This message is a clarion call to all Christians not to ignore or wave aside the recent happenings in the world. Since 2010, the world has been witnessing strange happenings in every nation and all of these point to Matt.24.7 “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.” These words were spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ to his followers. To those who are of the world, it is strange happenings, but those who are of God’s Kingdom -it’s the beginning of the end time prophecies. So we as believers of Christ have to start putting our houses in order since we neither know the date or time of Christ coming.
