The general maxim to err is human and to forgive is divine, occupy a strong position in the life of the Christian. The psalmist asked God, why are you so mindful of man, whose heart is full of wickedness and yet you take knowledge of him? In his vantage position, man can be arrogant and full of himself and look down on those he considers not in the same class with him! What makes man behave this way? Mostly education, money and fame! Many have been brought down from grace to grass because of pride of the flesh! Remember, the bible stated that he who sows to the flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption: and he that sows to the spirit, shall of the spirit reap eternal life in Christ Jesus. The spiritual case between junior Prophet Uebert Angel of the Miracle TV fame and Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) is one that needs intercession by God’s elect. Both men of God are first and foremost flesh and blood; it is the abounding grace that appointed them to occupy the spiritual offices that brought them to our knowledge and fellowship in Christ.
It has been three years, since the young Zimbabwe prophet, Uebert Angel, insulted the ministry and personality of the Nigerian prophet. Before this incident, which I the writer witnessed, while watching Miracle TV in November 2012, Uebert Angel’s ministry was flourishing with an amazing growth capacity both in physical presences of worshippers and a worldwide viewing audience. He had everything going for him as a minister of the gospel in a country that truly needed God’s presences, because of years of totalitarian rule and corruption that had grounded the economy. God said, if my people who are called by my name should humble themselves and pray and repent from their wicked ways, He will hear from heaven and heal the land. Rather than humble himself and served the God who had called him to serve in his home country away from his Manchester, England, comfort zone. The popularity and fame of his position began to derail him. God wanted to raise his army to deliver Zimbabwe by positioning his ministers in strategic positions to cause repentance and prayers among his children, so that He can deliver the land and bring forth a turn around for good of the battered economy. The position of the prophet is key to the move of Almighty God in any country where intervention is needed and necessary; for God speaks through his Prophets to the leaders on what is ahead and the cause of action to be taken for his glory to manifest in the land. Prophets do not and must not fraternize with politicians or organizations, but must remain as God’s mouth piece to the people and government.
One can accurately point to the troubles of Prophet Uebert Angel to that singular utterance he made during a deliverance service in his Church in 2012, against a more anointed and focus senior in the ministry of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, Prophet TB Joshua. There was a spiritual upset in the realm, and the many complaints of those who heard and wrote to TB Joshua to respond to the insult, further compounded the troubles of the young prophet. Here is a copy of one of the many e-mails sent on the 11th of January 2013 to the SCOAN prophet by a Zambia worshipper who attended Uebert Angel’s church service on that fateful day and TB Joshua’s response:
Dear Prophet T.B. Joshua,
First of all, I want to thank you for allowing God Almighty to use you to bring hope to the hopeless, be a father to the fatherless and comforter of the widows. God has given you grace to bring deliverance, healing and hope to millions of people, especially the youth of this generation. My name is Patrick and I am writing from Zambia. I am one of the young people who are hooked to watching Christian channels and am greatly inspired by the prophetic ministry, the lifestyle of Prophets and their operation in the things of the Spirit.
However, I recently visited Zimbabwe from Zambia and discovered something that has confused me. According to my shallow understanding, a prophet is a person or man of God who is inspired and speaks by the inspiration of the Spirit of God. They are men of God who speak the mind of God; they see visions, revelations and speak as God directs them.
It means without the Spirit of God, they can never do these things humanly. Whenever a prophet prophesies, they say, ‘God said this’ or ‘The Spirit of God has told me this’ – and we see those things come to pass. This equally means the Spirit of God enables them to prophesy and see in the spirit.
Now, my question is – when it comes to talking against fellow pastors and prophets, is it the same Spirit at work? What is happening there? I say this because in Zimbabwe, I attended the service of a well-known Prophet called Uebert Angel who owns Miracle TV. While he was prophesying to a certain lady from my country, he told her that she was supposed to go somewhere else but because of financial difficulties came to him. The lady replied that she had wanted to go to The SCOAN in Lagos, Nigeria to see Prophet T.B. Joshua.
Prophet Angel then asked her why she wanted to go to a place where they would only tell you when the next president will die. He told her that it was in his own church she would hear the reality. I was very shocked to hear this.
Also, during a partners meeting of Prophet Angel which I attended, he even boasted, ‘T.B. Joshua is the one who always calls me on the phone; I do not phone him.’ He asked one of his ushers to stand up and confirm this, which he did. This happened recently, in the second week of November 2012. This is confusing to young people like me who love watching men of God. Why do those who are supposed to share the same mission talk negatively about their fellow prophets? Help me to understand this!
TB JOSHUA’S COMMENT:
“Brother Patrick, thank you for your email. Don’t be troubled in your heart. Remember, Jesus said there will be trouble. Indeed, there is reason to be troubled because of what the founder of Miracle TV, Uebert Angel, said about me and my ministry. There is greater reason not to be.
“I believe what you said in your email. It was true Angel (Miracle TV) said this in his service. There were almost 20 emails I received saying the same thing. Brother Patrick, I have nothing to say. I leave my battle for God.
He has been fighting for me and He will continue to fight for me – because the battle is of God. In Him, I live. In Him, I talk. In Him, I have my being. You with God are majority. I drop my pen here to say I love you all and trust only God, Jesus Christ, our Saviour.”
TB Joshua’s final response to Uebert Angel insults , which I also watched on his Emmanuel TV channel, was the straw that broke the Carmel’s back. God answered the words of his chosen prophet and gave Uebert Angel to his base mind. Nothing the Zimbabwe prophet did from 2013 upward received heaven’s attention anymore; that got him into trouble almost at every turn. He also began fraternizing with the Zimbabwe political class and appeared in the presidency organized functions. Satan and his agents were having a field day messing up the young prophet with worldly lust, this climaxed in the infamous $300,000 Bentley Car saga, which barred Uebert Angel from entering into his native country. There was a warrant for his arrest subsisting in the Zimbabwe courts before June 2015. It was however overturned when the plaintiff could not prove he was defrauded of the Bentley.
Today, 2016, the ministry of Uebert Angel is a shadow of its past. He has since relocated to his former base in Manchester and his Miracle TV is on and off the satellite channel. His ministry has been changed from Spirit Embassy to Good News Church. So as not to leave a void in the prophetic ministry in Zimbabwe, God ordained an unknown man prior to 2013, called Walter Magaya to take over the vacuum left by Uebert Angel. This confirms that God truly is not a respecter of persons, but only those that yield themselves to him in humility and holiness.
Walter Magaya had visited Prophet TB Joshua’s SCOAN to enquire from God which of the eighty proposals he had would be fruitful. Rather than getting the answer to which business to invest in, he got a prophesy from TB Joshua that God says he should leave business and start a ministry in his home country of Zimbabwe. By October, 2013, PHD ministry was born and at the helm of spiritual affairs is Prophet Walter Magaya. In less than two years of opening his doors, as many as 250,000 worshippers attend his monthly deliverance programmes. He has also had his fair share of controversies in recent times.
The way forward for Prophet Uebert Angel to bounce back and reach the pinnacle of his calling is to eat the humble pie and bury his pride and apologize to TB Joshua, asking for forgiveness. He needs the SCOAN’s prophet prayer and deliverance to gather himself together again. If not he will continue to be tossing from end to end without stability, while his admirers look on. As you read this write-up, continue to pray for Uebert Angel and other gospel ministers that are facing challenges in their lives. Every anointed one is precious to the believer and the house of God.
