WE BELIEVE IN AN
SPICEOLOGY & CULINARY INCLUSIVITY
From on the line to a seat at the table, the cutting board to the board room, our female workforce is a source of strength and inspiration at Spiceology. The women of our culinary world – home cooks, bakers, kitchen staff, chefs, restaurateurs, brewmasters, business owners, and every other female rocking her expertise – are deeply important to us. At Spiceology, we are committed to amplifying the voices, aspirations and innovations of women in our industry.
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.
These are important milestones to remind us of why women in the culinary world are pioneers, inspiring and, in general, badass. But at Spiceology, this is our everyday reality and commitment. We support and celebrate women, and we’ll continue to do so every day and month of the year.
LEADERSHIP AT SPICEOLOGY
We’re proud that more than
of our sales, marketing and admin teams are women.
And while we love having Mama Spice (as she is affectionately called) at the helm of whatever department she’s led, 2021 marks her return to our test kitchen. As the Chief Recipe Innovator, Heather will return to her food blog roots developing drool inducing recipes, taking hunger pain causing photos and generally encouraging flavor seekers to get into the kitchen and experiment with flavor.

SPICEOLOGY WOMEN AT WORK
Celebrating some of the unique female flavor at Spiceology.
Having female leadership is not only fun and collaborative, but it creates a genuine balance. My background is in biotech and medical devices. At previous companies I was the only female leader and I’d sit in meetings with fourteen men and me. Being at Spiceology is so refreshingly progressive. I work with passionate people to find solutions and push projects forward.
VP OF CHANNELS & DISTRIBUTION
It’s really powerful to see successful companies run by women, especially at Spiceology where we’ve broken a bunch of financial barriers. A lot of people still associate successful million dollar companies with a male backbone and that simply isn’t the case. If you look behind the curtain you’ll see so many women on the executive board and in management roles.
SENIOR MANAGER – SUPPLY CHAIN & FORECASTING
People talk about empathy like it’s a bad thing, but putting empathetic women leaders into positions gives us more opportunity to understand our customers. [From] HelpChefs.com to the Love is Love variety pack, we’ve really taken the stance of wrapping our arms around everyone in our community and allowed for women to support each other in leadership roles.
MANAGER – CLIENT SUCCESS TEAM
I love working with other women especially in a really creative environment. Being a woman in the culinary industry you have to be super competitive but, in my experience, working with women takes away that competitive side of things and everyone can work together collaboratively.
There’s not only a large female presence, but the women who have leadership roles are also active participants; these are women at the table who are being listened to, they’re directing, they’re very clearly in charge, engaged and equals. It’s nice to be at a place where it feels like we’re not competing with each other, where we have an equal spot at the table, and we are listened to without yelling.
To the other women of Spiceology, thanks for all you do to add better flavor to this world.
