Better Flavor Goes Beyond Taste…
At Spiceology, we believe in better flavor, not just through good ingredients and killer combinations, but through responsible practices designed to create a more equitable food chain.
Our Better Flavor Pillars
These three initiatives are just the start of the “bigger picture” at Spiceology.
And, while there is always work to be done, we’re proud of the company we’re becoming.

Innovating Beyond Flavor
Sustainability
Innovation is about more than flavor at Spiceology. While we’re currently plastic neutral, we’re taking a holistic, organization-wide approach to sustainability:

Outside Our Doors
Beginning in 2021, Spiceology committed to being plastic neutral through a partnership with Cleanhub.io and supporting their work to recover, treat and recycle ocean-bound plastics… because this is a big world, and we all need to do our part.

Recyclable & Reusable Packaging
Currently, we package in glass jars and #1PET, the most recyclable of all plastics. So, we encourage our customers to reuse and recycle their empty Spiceology jars and containers.

Energy Efficiency
In April 2021 we opened a new production facility optimized for low energy usage.
Sustainability Highlight:

Spiceology was selected as the official spice partner for Climate Pledge Arena, the most progressive, responsible and sustainable arena in the world.

Do Good. Taste Good.
Giving
We believe everyone deserves a healthy meal, which is why we support nonprofits and chefs focused on providing meals to those in need.

NFL Tailgate Takeover
Leveraging our chef community, we brought local flavor to Thursday night football with our multi-city tailgating food truck activation. The proceeds from each activation were donated to local charities to make a difference. Pretty tasty.

American Heart Association & National Kidney Foundation
We launched a line of salt-free seasonings that will donate up to 15% of sales in perpetuity to these organizations. We have guaranteed a minimum donation of $10,000 to each organization.

Love is Love Collection
We created this gift set to celebrate LGBTQ+ equity and donate 10% of sales to organizations like World Central Kitchen and the Oakland Community Center to help feed those in need. The LGBTQ+ community faces food insecurity at a substantially higher rate than any other community. In 2020 alone, we donated almost $10,000.

HelpChefs.com
Within 3 weeks of the World Health Organization proclaiming COVID-19 a pandemic, we launched an online platform to provide resources and funding to the culinary community. In 2020, Spiceology donated $14,250 through the project.

American Culinary Institute of America
In 2020, we provided $30,000 in Spiceology products to help the next generation of chefs learn to “Experiment with Flavor.” As is true with most culinary programs, the CIA teaches sustainability as a core principle for all their culinary students.

Flavor for All
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
At Spiceology, we celebrate diversity and all the unique flavors in life. We welcome all to join our spicy family regardless of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or life situation.

Gender Equity
63% of our executive leadership team identify as women.

LGBTQ+ Equity
Since 15% of our entire company identifies as LGBTQ+, we are dedicated to offering benefits equitably across the workforce, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.
